The Cheshire Lapidary Workshop
Improve your cabochon cutting skills. You’ve learned the basics, so now it’s time to skill up!
This cabochon cutting course is designed for people who have already completed the beginners course and are itching to learn more.
About the Course.
As before, courses run from 10.00am until 4.00pm with a half hour break for lunch. I’ll remind you of all the safety aspects first and then you’ll be given safety goggles and an apron.
We have the diamond trim saw, the Ameritool flat lap and the fantastic Cabking—my personal favourite. This time though, the course is more flexible.
Again, you can choose from our huge selection of rough rock but on this occasion you’re welcome to bring any of your own material, whether it be a favourite beach pebble or a precious piece of opal. (Both are of equal value in so many ways!)
You’ll be learning how to cut a pear shaped or irregular shaped stone with outside curves. You’ll also be learning how to cut a stone with an inside curve (or multiple inside curves) and how to shape and polish the tricky top surface.
We’ll be having a lunch break at about 12.30pm so bring a packed lunch as before. I’ll be providing you with plenty of drinks and biscuits throughout the day.
Because this course is so flexible, we can tailor it to suit your needs, so after you book, we’ll be in touch to make sure you get exactly what you need.
You know where to find us, based in Beeston, Cheshire. We’ll leave a space for you to pull onto the driveway if you’re coming by car.
Don’t forget, we can collect you from the train stations at Crewe or Chester and return you at the end of the day.
